The Inspiration Behind Norkita White’s Entrepreneurial Dream

I bought a necklace for $45. When I received it, I looked at it and told my husband that I could have made it.  I then decided to start making jewelry. It started out as a hobby. I posted pictures of my work on my social media pages, and someone from my church saw them and asked me to be a vendor at an upcoming event. My business took off from there. I love beading! I can look at beads and see the finished product. I dream about designs and wake up and either jot them down or I’ll get up and make them.

Norkita’s Advice to Women Who Aspire to Own A Business:

I have a few pieces of advice that I would offer to women who are considering entrepreneurship:

  1. Research what it is that you want to do, so that you can be successful.
  2. Be patient. Success does not happen overnight.
  3. Realize that not everyone is going to support you. They may even try to derail your dreams, but don’t let that get you down or frustrated.
  4. Keep pushing! Keep dreaming! Keep working toward your goals!
